Endurance Adventures 2023 Trip Highlights!
This past November 28 – December 4 Endurance Adventures enjoyed leading another successful ski trip to B.C. Canada. Since there has been no natural snow back in Minnesota it was extra special to be on snow early season! Below are the top ten reasons to visit Silver Star and Sovereign Lake along with highlight pictures from the 2023 trip.
Reason #1 Jumpstart Your Ski Fitness
Early season on snow skiing jumpstarts both your fitness and ski technique! During the trip coach Kim and Brian had the participants ski legs and arms only to refine their weight transfer and double pole technique. Video reviews of the participants along with World Cup racing watching parties created a fun social atmosphere!
Reason #2 No driving commute!
Ski-in Ski-out lodging from Snowbird lodge is one of the best perks of the entire trip. Skiers keep their equipment in the ski locker and walk right out the door to ski!
Reason #3 Fine dining just steps away
Silver Star Village provides eight incredible restaurants with a variety of menu options ranging from Italian, Indian, American, French and Scandinavian. Endurance Adventure plans all the dinner reservations so all you need to do is walk out the door for a short 5 minute walk to your destination.
Reason #4 Afternoon Sunset skiing!
There were several foggy and snowy days on the trip but we were all treated to an afternoon sunset and blue skies which makes Silver Star ski trails come alive!
Reason #5 Relaxing post workout social time!
Each evening following our afternoon ski outing, Endurance Adventures provides appetizers and beverages for the group. Participants enjoy soaking in the private outdoor hot-tub while chatting about their ski adventures!
Reason #6 When tired, take the gondola ride!
The Silver Star ski trail pass includes two gondola rides per day to the top of the downhill and Nordic ski trails. On the ride up, skiers can enjoy the views from the gondola and then ski back down to the village as the the sun sets! Skiers can also ski down to Sovereign Lake Trail system if desired.
Reason #7 Skiing through the giant snow covered trees!
Silver Star is one of the most magical places to ski in the world. Due to the amount of precipitation they receive the trees grow to an enormous height. Sometimes it feels like you are skiing in “Narnia”!
Reason #8 Morning or Afternoon Bugaboo Bakery delights!
Bugaboo Bakery is right next to the Snowbird Lodge and makes a great post-ski snack! One afternoon participants enjoyed fresh cinnamon rolls between our early and late morning ski session!
Reason #9 Trailside hot chocolate and snacks at Captik or Mountain View ski huts!
Endurance Adventures kicks off the trip with a 10 km ski up to Captik cabin and feeds the crew with some warm drinks, fresh bread and other delights before heading back down the mountain. There is always a warm fire awaiting you at any of these trailside cozy cabins.
Reason #10 Evening walks through the magical Silver Star Village
One of my favorite things to do is take a recovery walk through the lighted up Silver Star Village. Last year we enjoyed fireworks and a light-up show with Santa and an outdoor farmers market!
